In addition to our programming, the Teen Center at the South Shore Y also provides young people with a safe space to socialize, seek support, and participate in activities. Teen Center membership is free with active program participation. Programs run October-May. Teen Center offers kids the opportunity to play basketball, football, ping pong and Wii Fit, swim and learn about STEM, as well as utilize our track and Teen Fitness Center upon receiving a certificate. Our Teen Adventure Camp Voyagers is packed with action, opportunities to make new friends and a new adventure each day. This trip allows the teens to put their camp acquired skills to good use as they plan meals, inspect and pack their gear and participate in outdoor activities while on the trip. The Center for Leadership and College Preparation, affiliated with Bank Street College of Education , offers educational opportunities both to high-achieving students and to struggling students. The program serves kids in 5thth grades, giving them access to a wide range of academic resources, college prep classes, counseling, mentoring and activities, as well as individual attention and support. Students are admitted in the 5th, 7th and 9th grades. The program offers eligible students a number of ways to improve their high school performance and get a head start on college.
